Picture a room filled with laughter, tartan splashed across tables, and that unmistakable moment when the skirl of the bagpipes turns a simple lunch into a celebration. The City of Port Coquitlam’s Robbie Burns Lunch for seniors was one of those afternoons that linger long after the last note fades. From the Mayor’s warm welcome to the dramatic piping in of the haggis, the spirit of Scotland was alive and well. There was a spirited Ode to the Haggis, graceful Scottish and sword dancing, and toe-tapping music that made it impossible to stay seated for long. Before anyone knew it, the dance floor was full and we were all putting our best Scottish foot forward.
If you couldn’t be there, or if you’d simply like to relive the smiles, the music, and the sheer fun of it all, take 20 minutes and watch the highlight video. It captures the energy, the community, and the joy of an afternoon that reminded us how good it feels to celebrate together.
