Join us at the Wilson Centre Seniors Advisory Association,
Where every event is a step towards a stronger community
Activities Designed to Reduce Social Isolation:
- Host eleven social gatherings a year, including bi-monthly birthday parties and themed luncheons.
- Run bi-monthly social events such as dances, lunches, and high tea.
- Organize bus trips for seniors to explore and socialize.
- Sponsor intergenerational lunches in partnership with the City of Port Coquitlam.
- Ran a Phone Buddies program during COVID-19 to support isolated seniors.
- Provide recreational activities such as Bingo, Bridge, Carpet Bowling, Dance Fusion, and language lessons.
- Support and participated in the annual May Day Festival.
- Facilitate the Silver Chord Choir, Band, and Ukulele groups for musical engagement.

Activities Designed to Reduce or Eliminate Food Insecurity:

- The Helping Hands at Christmas program provides food assistance for seniors during the holidays.
- Support the Farmers Market Coupon Program to help seniors access fresh food in spring and summer.
- Provide the opportunity for seniors to volunteer in the Wilson kitchen to support food service programs.
- Donate monthly to the local food bank.
- Support local charities for Christmas hampers.
- Provide funding to keep food costs low in the cafeteria for seniors.
