Local vendors have been very responsive to the needs of seniors and those requiring extra assistance. Below are a few local vendors who have made adjustments to your shopping experience. Please check your local store for updates and any changes to their times listed:

Grocery Stores

Grocery Delivery

Freshmart on Shaughnessy St. provides local deliveries 2x per day at 12 pm & 3 pm. Phone orders must be received at least 1 hour prior. 604-942-6126

Save on Foods Using online ordering, this service is very busy but great if you are able to plan ahead. www.saveonfoods.com

Pharmacy

Shoppers Drug Mart Freemont 9-10 am daily Shoppers Drug Mart Shaughnessy 8-9 am daily * Seniors Day on Thursdays continues

Pharmasave:  Prescriptions filled over the phone and deliveries are Tu/Fri. Payment via credit card or cash, with change being provided on delivery.

Online library card registration is not currently available at FVRL, however, we are actively working to provide this service, as we know there is a very high demand for this in our communities. Supporting seniors in association with Better at Home program and the Strong Communities Initiative

·        BC211: http://www.bc211.ca/ has a new program that is connecting seniors in need to volunteers willing to help.

o   Safe Seniors, Strong Communities Form is located at the top of the page. This provides volunteers and seniors with the opportunity to sign up to assist or receive help.

o   Seniors or their family members would apply online or via phone with BC 211 and request support. 211 will send those requests to the vetted hub agencies listed below and they will provide the services or work requested and match the applicant with a volunteer to fill the need.

o   Services include: Meal prep, Grocery shopping, Food and meds pick up, Checking calls.

o   Call or logon to the website and answer the questions regarding your current need: Friendly visits, phone calls, shopping and delivery, meal prep

·        Friday minister of health identified 24 hub agencies to support vulnerable populations. Some hub agencies include:
