AGM October 2014

WILSON CENTRE SENIORS’ ADVISORY ASSOCIATION ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OCTOBER 15, 2014

The annual general meeting of the Wilson Centre Seniors’ Advisory Association was called to order by vice president, Anne Huntley at 1215, having established a quorum of members.

A motion was made by Roland Mitchell to allow the Vice-President, Anne Huntley, to act as Chair at the AGM. The motion was seconded by Pat Blatter and carried in a vote by the members present at the AGM. Anne welcomed the members present and a moment of silence was held for members who have passed away. Minutes of the 2013 AGM were read and Joe Arden made a motion, “to accept the minutes as read.” Seconded by Barb Cisecki. Motion carried.

Financial report presented by Roland Mitchell.

“Recommendation for approval of the appropriate level of engagement for the external accountant to be a compilation engagement of the fiscal years ending June 2013 and June 2014,” moved by Bill Pratt, seconded by Eileen Trelenberg. Motion carried.

“Recommendation for approval of the draft of the June 2014 annual financial statement and accompanying notes to the financial statements” moved by Elisabeth Lee, seconded by Louise Sahlsten. Motion carried.

A motion to accept the proposed changes to the Constitution and By-Laws as presented at the AGM by Roland Mitchell, was made by lan Follis. The special motion was seconded by Pearl Phillips and carried in a vote by the members present at the AGM.

CVSS report given by Marg Gordon.

Coordinator’s report given by Rob Sullivan.

Motion to accept the reports made by Joe Arden, seconded by Pearl Phillips. Motion carried.

Larry Wheeler, Parks and Recreation Deputy Director for the City of Port Coquitlam, conducted the election for advisory board positions for the 28th consecutive year.

Election results for two year terms are as follows:

  • Communications-Louise Sahlsten
  • Arts and Culture-Bill Miller
  • Active living-Ian Follis
