WILSON CENTRE SENIORS’ ADVISORY ASSOCIATION
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
OCTOBER 9, 2013

The annual general meeting of the Wilson Centre Seniors’ Advisory Association meeting was called to order by president, Bruce Hansen at 1210.

Bruce welcomed all present. A moment of silence was held for those members who had passed away. The president introduced the board members and the city staff in attendance.

Minutes of the 2012 AGM were moved as presented by Neil Bradbury, seconded by Betty Brown. Motion carried.

Bruce gave his “President’s Message”. Highlighting the many activities of the centre beginning with “Fashion Through Ages”, the May Day parade, car show and Farmer’s Market with approximately 18000+ volunteer hours put in by the members of the centre. Bruce is on the advisory committee looking into the expansion or rebuilding of the Rec Centre/Wilson Centre/Library complex. (On file.)

Finance report was given by the treasurer, Roland Mitchell. Moved approved by Ian Follis, seconded by Juanita Franco. Motion carried.

CVSS report on file. Thank you to Sue Uremovich and Suzanne Temple.

Coordinator Rob Sullivan thanked the Board members for their ongoing support. Report on file.

Code of Conduct for Wilson Centre members is as per the city.

Special resolution dealing with the proposed changes to the Constitution and By- laws passed. (On file.)

Larry Wheeler, from Parks and Rec, conducted the the elections for the 27th consecutive year.

  • Bruce Hansen president by acclamation
  • Ways and Means committee one position remains vacant.
  • Communications committee Juanita Franco by acclamation.
  • Arts and Culture committee George Lukach by acclamation.
  • Active Living committee Neil Bradbury.

“Thank you Larry” for conducting the election again. Prize draw winners of $100.00 each were;

Brigitte Fast, Grace Kosicki, Diane Forseille, Alice Fennelow, Pat Blatter.

Meeting adjoured at 1310 with coffee and cookies being served to the attending member with thanks from the Wilson Centre Seniors’ Advisory Association.
